“In 1957 Madame took the rights of the furniture
and gave the originals
to a company in
who made them for next to nothing;
(my parents made 50 cents for each piece - can you imagine!
I think the material covered pieces earned them $1 each!!!!),
but the Japanese pieces did not stand up
to the test of time
(I can tell the
difference in quality immediately).
My Dad was a true craftsman
and it showed in every piece he made.”
