Sometimes in life something wonderful takes you by surprise.
Louise Leffler gave me her adorable
childhood Hall's folding dollhouse above.
The house has 4 rooms that are no longer conjoined,
but the graphics are all there and still truly vibrant.
Above is the bedroom to this dollhouse, and
I hope to display the other 3 rooms in future pages.
(I had purchased the mini version of this house
last year from Carol Norton who created the mini from
her own dollhouse.) You are seeing
a dollhouse within a dollhouse!
The Fold-Away 4 Room Dollhouse
was made in 1958
by Arcade Lithographing Corp. for Hall's
Lifetime Toys. The walls are 18 inches high.
The floor is 20"x 20".
(The shipping weight to my house
was 13 lbs. It is very heavy!)
The wooden furniture you see
was all hand made in the 50's by Hall's
and includes the canopy bed and harder to find
blanket chest.
The photo above is a scan from Jean Mahan's
Doll Furniture 1950's-1980's ID book .
(If you are interested in doll furniture
to scale for 8-10" dolls,
this is the one book you should own).
Repro Ginny Susanne is playing with her pretend
"Strombecker" furniture
and mini boxes I made to coordinate.
2004 Repro Ginny Glad Tiny Miss #42
is playing with her pretend pink and yellow
"J. Chein furniture" I "created" from some old
and newer miniature plastic dollhouse pieces.
I made the Chein yellow dollhouse box to the right
and it measures 3 1/2" long.
All the mini boxes you see were once for sale from my Home Page.
The pink plastic people are all vintage
and look so cute with this mini house.
I remember this ad so vividly from teen magazines.
"100 Little Dolls for $1.00"
I won the original advertisement brochure, dolls,
and original mailing box on Ebay.
(I believe my box has close to a hundred dolls inside)
Can you tell I love this doll?
She was made for
Stella's Garden Party Event
Stella also sold a matching Sparky pup
with Vogue box. I had to have him!

All my Strombecker mini boxes fit neatly inside.
