Ginny started her day with a healthy breakfast!
Please scroll across...
This hard to find and now very pricey breakfast set
with placemat is by Re-ment from the discontinued
2004 American Life series.
The added glass of milk is by Betty!
My Ginny is a 1951 transitional strung Vogue doll.
Today she is taking her composition baby
for a ride in this vintage tin friction carriage.
I believe this buggy was made in the
late 40's or early 50's.
It is marked in back with a K in a circle
and the words "Japan".
The friction part still works
(but not perfectly)
after so many years.
Even without the original attached dolls,
the carriage itself is
a rare item as it is was made prior
to the litho Ohio art
push carriages that followed.
Tin over rubber wheels
Calico animals!
This baby arrived via blue birds!
The carriage originally had two rubber
or plastic babies
(similar to sitting dollhouse babies)
and one bobbed up and down
when the carriage moved.
Since they were missing, I added
this sweet baby
who just happens to be dressed
much like a vintage crib crowd
Ginny doll!
(doll was part of a matching twin set)
My sister Cindi looked much like this tiny baby.
The composition doll marked Japan
has a real tiny opening for her mouth
so I added a little bottle
to match her painted eyes.
Underside
The original dolls were once attached
under round skirts
(there is one skirt left above)
